Fort Dobbs in Statesville (Iredell County) is the only North Carolina site dedicated to the French & Indian War, the pivotal frontier conflict that led to the American Revolution. Archaeologists have determined the fort's location and uncovered information about its past.
Living history programs bring to life the stories of North Carolina provincial soldiers and the inhabitants of the colonial frontier.
This is one of 27 state historic sites administered by the N.C. Department of Cultural Resources (www.ncdcr.gov) through its Division of Historic Sites & Properties (www.nchistoricsites.org).
