Homeschool helps Everyone Has Holes
Ever wonder what your students are missing? Someone once told me that when they go to college or into the workforce, it will be apparent just where the holes were in their education, yet everyone's education will have holes somewhere.
Half of my students are adults now, and I am seeing what a blessing it has been to educate them at home...and also, what they have missed. Any education that even the best of schools can boast will have holes.
Acknowledge them, look for opportunities to fill them, pray for God to continue His work in their lives, but do not let any of these holes hold you back from giving your student the best education that you can. | | yielding |
College/vocation It Doesn't Hurt to Ask
Grants, Aid, Scholarships: so much is available. Even if you are receiving several of these, it doesn't hurt to ask if there are any more that could be applied. My students' ACT Scores earned them each a scholarship. There were a couple other introductory scholarships. With the balance that was left, I knew we needed more help.
At the meeting to ask if there was any more help available, the recruiting member mentioned one more possibility. In walks the only other person who could make that decision, and for a 30-minute meeting, $3000 of help was given.
So, ask. | | yielding |
